Honey Garlic Pork Chops

Ingredients

4 pork chops

salt and pepper to taste

1 tsp garlic powder

2 tbsp olive oil

1 tbsp unsalted butter

6 cloves garlic, minced

1/4 cup honey

1/4 cup water or chicken broth

2 tbsp rice wine or apple cider vinegar

Directions

Preheat broiler on medium-high heat. Season pork chops with salt, pepper, and garlic powder before cooking.

Heat oil in a pan over medium/high heat, then sear chops until golden and cooked through (4-5 min each side), transfer to plate.

Reduce heat to medium, melt butter in the same pan, scraping up any brown bits with it. Saute garlic until fragrant, then add the honey, water and vinegar. Increase heat to medium/high reducing the sauce until it thickens slightly (3-4 min), stirring occasionally.

Add pork back into pan coating it with the sauce, then place the pan under the broiler for 1-2 minutes to slightly char the edges allowing the sauce to cook into the chops.

Notes

Can pair this with any other vegetable recipe.

Simple green beans and baked potato or spicy cucumber salad for a contrast of sweet and spicy.
